The Word of God

James 1:22-25

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

I have been teaching as of late on the importance of knowing the Word of God. I use the word knowing the same as Christ used it in John:17-3 when he said "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." This is a very intimate word, it used also for when a man knows his wife (they become one). So to we must become one with the scripture, knowing the the will of God. (Romans 12:2) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Looking back at James 1:22 we see why so many people are following false teachers today. It is evident that many who are attending "churches" today have no idea what the Word of God really says, they have only listened and they have not looked intently into the perfect Word of God. So they do not know Gods perfect will, (Romans 12:2) and so the can not remember what it says nor can they do it. They have so deceived themselves, and I fear many will be lost because of there lack of wisdom and understanding, that is only found in the revealed Word of God .

Please don't deceive yourself, dig in, study, know God's Word, do what it says. and may the Grace of God be present in your life .

This post is short, I hope I got my point across.

Deuteronomy 29:29

29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
